Chargo operates Norway's largest power bank rental network, with more than 1,200 stations across airports, hotels, shops, restaurants, and fitness centers. Ur Solutions has been Chargo's development partner since 2020 and built the platform that keeps the network running.

When we came on board in 2020, Chargo was an early prototype with a few hundred stations and an initial backend delivered by an external vendor. To go nationwide, Chargo needed a team that could take over day-to-day operations and build a platform that scaled with the company's ambitions, from a handful of pilot installations to a national network with round-the-clock operations, payment flows, and real-time communication with thousands of devices.

Five years on, Chargo is a nationwide network with more than 1,200 stations and over 200,000 users. We operate the backend, payment integrations, admin tooling, IoT communication, and a custom Android application running on the stations' payment terminals. The platform maintains consistently high uptime and uses a custom lightweight IoT protocol for real-time communication with stations in the field. Chargo has grown from a prototype into one of the most visible consumer services in Norway, with stations at venues including Avinor, IKEA, Thon Hotels, 7-Eleven, and Burger King.
