Chargo is Norway's premier rental system for powerbanks, offering a network of stations where users can easily rent powerbanks to ensure their devices are always charged. Since 2019 and up until today, our efforts have helped increase the availability, ease of use and reliability of their services.
Ur Solutions was first engaged as a technical advisor at Chargo, where our responsibility was to guide them through IT technical and strategic decisions. Furthermore, we were tasked with structuring the technical developments and we have been a key player in the development of two key applications: A mobile application for both Android and iOS, as well as a web application. In addition, we have served as the main contact for foreign subcontractors.
Our initial approach was to identify and address the challenges that characterized the original application. This included in-depth analysis of existing functionality and user experience to identify areas for improvement.
In addition, we have had a permanent developer with almost 100% commitment through a retainer agreement. This developer has played an important role in managing continuous development, providing technical advice and doing financial analyses. This has helped to maintain an efficient workflow, while at the same time we have been flexible and adapted to changes and challenges along the way.
We developed the mobile application with a focus on integrating and enhancing solutions to ensure a user-friendly, safe and accessible experience. Key tasks included integrating secure payment solutions such as Stripe and facilitating easy and secure payments through Vipps. We've also developed functionality to be able to use Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals with Stripe to make the payment process even easier. The VIPPS integration has involved the use of both the eCom API and recurring for subscription solutions.
To further increase the accessibility of Chargo, in 2022 a web application was developed. This made it easy for new users to rent battery without having to download the application. The web application offers a fast and seamless experience from scanning drive to charging, with the use of the Vipps flux existing in the app, as well as a newly developed flow in the web application.
We have also developed a control panel for Chargo, the main focus of which has been to provide them with financial insight and control, as well as giving them the tools they need for day-to-day operations, including checking locations and managing anomalies.
During our partnership, Chargo has grown to serve over 160,000 active users, with over 1,000 locations in the Nordic region.
